about
Hello, I hope you enjoy this new track. It is a little different than I'm used to making, and it may not be your cup of tea, but i think it came out pretty OK. It is a bit more experimental than I'm comfortable with but I hope you enjoy it regardless.
Behind the scenes:
--------------------------
I recorded guitar harmonics, stretched them a bit. I recorded drums and reversed them with a reverb. I then make a drum pattern and stretched them beyond belief giving it the train track like sound in the intro that plays continuously.
I also made an Organ like synth in massive that used the same notes as the harmonics.
I played a few lead synths and reversed them and adjusted the pitch up an octave.
The bass is in massive and I tied a macro to the performer that then controlled the scream filter, then and oscillator that was also controlled by a macro that was routed to change the performer amp and the filter fade. The bass was side chained to give it some wobble.
The hats that get all weird at 1:18 is actually a hat pattern that was recorded, then bit crushed (gradually) and recorded, then duplicated and reversed so it is a reverse bit crush that then turns into normal drums that them also bit crush to the end of the pattern. So the two hat patterns together are Reversed Bit crush -> Reversed Non Crushed> Normal Hats-> Normal Bit crushed : all within a few bars.
Some of the basses were also chopped and spliced.
Also the ending contains some samples from "pokemon snap" that have been time warped and some other glitch hats and sounds.
